Stainless Steel Nameplates
Photograve’s Stainless Steel Plates offer a superior solution for permanent labeling needs. Made from 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel, these plates boast remarkable resistance to corrosion, extreme temperatures, and various chemicals. Additionally, they exhibit exceptional strength, are easy to clean, and possess an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Marking Methods:
To ensure long-lasting designs, our Stainless Steel plates undergo a chemical etching process that engraves the image into the metal surface to a depth of approximately 0.25mm. This produces a clear and legible image. If desired, the etched image can be color-filled using enamel paint. We offer the flexibility to use multiple colors for paint filling and can closely match PMS colors for branding requirements. The advantage of our method is that the decoration fills the etched portion of the material, making it highly resistant to surface abrasion, chipping, or scratching compared to conventional surface-printed metal plates.
Gauges / Grades:
Our metal plates are available in a range of gauges, from 0.5mm to 3mm, we only use 316 Stainless Steel for superior quality. The choice of thickness depends on the intended application and specific needs.
Shapes & Sizes:
Based on your material selection, our plates can be cut out, pressed out, or laser cut. We offer an extensive selection of standard press tool shapes and can also create custom press tools to match your unique designs. Additionally, we provide finishing options like corner cropping and punching of various sized holes to further customise your plates.
Mounting:
For easy installation, we can incorporate holes in the metal plates suitable for mounting with rivets or screws. Additionally, we offer backing adhesives that adhere securely to various substrates, including metal, plastic, and powder-coated surfaces, ensuring a hassle-free mounting process.

Aluminium Nameplates
Aluminium Name Plates offer an excellent solution for durability and design. They can be made in a number of different ways to suit the intended application.
Methods of Design:
Aluminium tags and nameplates can be made using various methods, including laser engraving, surface printing with inks and chemically etching followed by paint filling. The most cost effective technique involves laser engraving designs into natural or colour dyed anodised aluminum. Surface printing is ideal for instances where particular PMS colours are required. Etching and paint filling are employed for both decorative purposes and applications demanding enhanced durability of markings.
Grades & Gauges:
Our range includes various gauges from 0.5mm to 3mm. The choice of gauge depends on the application and factors such as plate shape, load-bearing capacity, and mounting requirements.
Shapes & Sizes:
Depending on your material selection, we can create plates that are cut out, pressed out, or laser cut. You can choose from our extensive collection of standard press tool shapes, or we can craft custom press tools for specific designs. Additionally, we offer finishing options, including corner cropping and pressing of holes in various sizes.
Mounting:
For convenient mounting, we can incorporate holes in the metal plates for rivets or screws. We also provide backing adhesives suitable for adhering to various substrates, such as metal, plastic, and powder-coated surfaces, making the application process seamless.
Why Choose an Aluminium Nameplate for Durability:
The anodizing process creates a layer of aluminium oxide on the surface, which is then infused with dye. The metal is then sealed after printing, effectively trapping the inks within the material. This sealing process transforms the aluminium’s chemical composition, resulting in a robust mineral layer. This enhances the nameplate’s resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and wear, providing a long-lasting product.

Applications include:

- Rating Plates
- Compliance Plates
- Control Panels
- Asset Tags
- Brand Identification
- Fire Door Rating Plates
